Aussie Slang with Canadian Boyfriend

For quite a while now I have been humming and hawing over the idea of creating videos and uploading them to Youtube. I don’t really have a plan right now with my channel, I’m just going to take it casual, upload regularly, and TRY to keep it entertaining. Last night I finally had the courage to film with fun video with Cree. I gave him a list of Aussie slang and phrases and asked him what he thought they meant. Since I am Australian, and he’s Canadian I thought it’d be really fun to see what he thought some meant. It turned out to be quite funny! I hope you enjoy it!!

YOU CAN WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

I do just want to disclaim that I understand some Australians may not use some of these words, but lets be real. I’ve either used these words myself, heard someone else use them, or found some online, but I do know what they all mean. So don’t hate if you don’t use them yourself because that’s not very Australian of you 😉 !

The words I used were:
Pash – Passionate Kiss
Dunny – Toilet
Botte-O – Liquor Store
Galah – Silly Person
Daks – Trousers
Barny – Argument
Cark It – To die
Gone off like a frog in a sock – Gone crazy
Away with the pixies – Daydreaming
Blimy – Surprised, Amazed
Hit The Turps – Binge Drinking
Hooroo – Goodbye
Bob’s Your Uncle – You’re all set, Good to go
Dag – Funny Person
Doovalacky – Thingy, something you don’t remember the name of
Holy Doolie – Excited
Rapt – Happy
Brolly – Umbrella
Gobsmacked – Astounded
Goon – Cheap boxed wine

Thank you for watching! Please give this video a thumbs up if you want more videos like this & leave video suggestions in the comments 🙂

 Lots of love,
